Talk Overview

As a patient with arteriovenous malformation, Danielle Collins experienced XR in her treatment thanks to the innovative use of Surgical Theater’s technology by XR trailblazer Dr. Walter Jean Neurosurgery Chair at Lehigh Valley Health Network. Collins, now the Patient & Chief Experience Officer at Empower360, will tell her patient story and give a flythrough of her case. She will also explain the bigger picture of what the use of XR can mean to patients. Dr. Walter Jean will discuss the technical components of Danielle’s case and other cases to demonstrate how far the medical use of AR technology has come since Danielle was treated in terms of both clinical use and research. This talk shares a rare two-sided patient and surgeon view of the impact and use of applied XR technology.
