medVR will hold a visionOS medical XR design sprint later this year.
This is an opportunity to learn the latest XR platform and development methodology, and gain experience on solving some of the clinical challenges with XR solutions.
The design sprint will be run in conjunction with Mass General Brigham, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Apple Medical.
Design Sprint Overview: * Interdisciplinary teams: 10 – 15 teams comprised of clinicians, developers, and designers * Design sprint challenges surveyed from medical XR experts * 4 – 6 weeks to produce a minimally viable product * Poster Session: At the conclusion of the event, a poster session will be held attended by hospitals, medical device makers, STEM universities, medical schools, and the XR community.
We invite all Boston designers and developers to learn about this professional development opportunity on design and development with visionOS and the Apple Vision Pro.
Y. Jenny Wang completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at MIT in 2022. Her thesis focused on acoustophoretic assembly — moving small objects with sound. She currently works on connecting the digital and physical worlds by combining technologies across extended reality, smart devices, and computer vision, with applications in city planning, manufacturing, digital models, and human-machine interfaces. An innovator with a particular interest in interdisciplinary problems, Jenny has worked on projects in a variety of domains, including fluid mechanics, nonlinear acoustics, manufacturing, heat transfer, atomistic modeling, and batteries. She excels at breaking down complex problems into their key components, creating elegant models that offer clear insights and solutions. In 2020, she co-founded Fuente Tech, a mobile-based geographical information system for urban data. Fuente Tech helps urban planners and officials in growing cities to engage with residents and to make informed policies. In 2024, she led the Block Party project to win the Silver Prize at the 2024 MIT Reality Hack, as well as the Best of Hardware track.
